About OUR STUDIO

Joey’s Entertainment is an independent game studio based in Limburg, Belgium.

The core team of Joey’s Entertainment consists of two people: Jelle (game development) and Sofie (narrative design). We collaborate with freelancers who have been working in game & movie development for years, and who – more importantly – share our vision and passion. Their expertise ranges from sound design and music composition to animation and art.

Together, we make narrative-driven games inspired by a love of cinema, philosophy, story, and adventure.

our vision

our vision

We believe games are a fantastic way of entertainment, but also the perfect tool to explore human behavior, emotions, philosophical questions, and art styles. To us, player immersion is important because it invites players to uncover the game’s mysteries and story progression without ever taking away their control. That’s why we don’t use cut scenes or narrative branches in our games. This vision also spills over in gameplay. We choose to keep the controls as simple as possible – without becoming simplistic – enabling us to offer immersive and accessible games.

Sofie (narrative design)

Sofie built her writing and story expertise in the world of television, magazines and corporations where she worked as a copywriter and journalist. She also writes romantic comedies which are published under the pen name Sophie-Leigh Robbins. Her love for games and story has melted into the perfect job: narrative game designer.

Jelle (coding, art)

Jelle started his career as a 3D artist for animation movie studios, working on projects like Sammy’s Adventures, The House of Magic and Robinson Crusoe. He later founded his own game studio and started working on his first title, an extreme sports game. Since then, his focus has shifted to the games we’re making today.
